
The standard was amazing and adjuticators Peter Retjo, Artistic Director of the Tucson International Chamber Music Competition, and Dr Bernadette Harvey were impressed with the calibre of the competitors, their communication within their groups and with the audience. The technical capacity and artistry of Trio 1837 impressed them most. "It augurs well for the future of chamber music in high schools on the northern beaches", they said.

First place: $1000 and the Officeworks Perpetual Trophy was awarded to Trio 1837 (Alex Oomens, Benjamin Mellefont and Alisa Yuko Bernhard).
Second place: Two hour recording session with Rumpus Records Dee Why to Salimba String Quartet (Aris Cao, Wendy Kong, Kahki Iwasaki and Talulah Yunkers).
Third place: Officeworks vouchers to the North Sydney Boys High Instrumental Trio (Frank Zhou, Nicholas Goh and Douglas Emery)
Fourth place: Officeworks vouchers to the Zeitgeist Trio (Bridget O'Donnell, Bethan Lillicrap, and Nadia Koudasheva)
Fifth place: Officeworks vouchers to the St. Augustine's Clarinet Quartet (Anthony Butler, Hayden Crosweller, Nathan Watkins and Daniel Hudson).
